Pierce County Reading Foundation, Tacoma, WA
The well received Read to Me campaign was a public education effort by the non-profit Pierce County Reading Foundation. The bright colors, arresting images and big headline "READ TO ME" accomplished impact at a distance. Up close, smaller blocks of colored type offered easy and creative ways to incorporate literacy skills into everyday activities.
Intercity Transit, Thurston County, WA
We compiled dozens of individual route maps into a handy and award-winning transit guide.
Washington State Arts Commission, Heritage Arts
We had designed several of these tour guides in a different format. Upon the great news that the guides were to be sold in retail locations including major book chains, the guides had to be redesigned to prevent theft of the audio components as well as stand upright on bookshelves. With collaboration from the client on what should be included, we illustrated all the maps in the guides as well. Truly one of our favorite projects.
Noodleware, Togrowwise, Olympia, WA
A local entrepreneur was in negotiation with major manufacturers of compostable tableware. We worked with her to brand the products she wanted to distribute and created a product package that worked as business card, product brochure and sample in one.
Paper Scissors Rock, Olympia, WA
Local artist Pam Corwin's decorative gift items based on her popular artwork are sold in retail locations across the country. We have been designing catalogs for her for years, but when her product line began to expand quickly and frequently, we redesigned her catalog as a mailable pocket folder and stepped tear sheets, allowing her flexibility and cost-effective printing when she added or reprinted product sheets.
Harlequin Productions, Olympia, WA
Upon completion of a multi-year capital fundraising campaign, Harlequin wanted to celebrate -- without spending a dime of the money they'd raised. We designed a simple, black and white donor invitation with an illustration based on the Phoenix painted on the ceiling of the lobby of their theater. An inexpensive detail with big impact, a red feather boa was cut apart and a single feather was included in each invitation, symbolic of the phoenix rising.
